Our Summer Camp has officially come to an end, and what an incredible 7 weeks it has been! We were thrilled to welcome 125 TK–8th grade campers throughout our weeks and were supported by an amazing team of 77 staff members and volunteers who helped make this summer so special. From Arts & Crafts and STEM to swimming, sports, games, and so much more, our campers had countless opportunities to learn, explore, and make lasting memories. We also enjoyed exciting field trips to Griffith Park, the California Science Center, and other wonderful destinations throughout Los Angeles. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this summer a success. Thank you to our campers, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners for making Summer Camp 2026 one to remember! 💙☀️

⚽🌎 Salesian Youth Soccer League Goes to the World Cup!⚽🌎

In collaboration with the LA84 Foundation and Play Equity Fund, 16 of our youth, coaches, and referees had the incredible opportunity to attend a World Cup match at SoFi Stadium! For many of our young soccer stars, this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience—and one they never imagined they would have. We are incredibly grateful to the partners and supporters who helped make this dream a reality and gave our youth the chance to experience the world’s biggest stage in soccer! 🌟

Young Leaders Building a Stronger Church Together

Young representatives from St. Mary’s Parish, St. Isabel Parish, the Salesian Family Youth Center, and St. Dominic Savio Parish recently gathered at Talpa to share experiences and best practices in youth ministry. The gathering was an opportunity for young leaders to connect, exchange ideas, and explore new ways to strengthen youth ministry through creativity, dialogue, and shared leadership.

We are grateful to Fr. Miguel Ángel for his warm invitation and hospitality. Together, we are reminded that young people are an essential part of the Church and powerful witnesses of faith, hope, and evangelization.

🎢☀️ Celebrating Our Summer Counselors!

To celebrate the end of Camp Salesian, we treated our counselors to a fun day at Six Flags! 🎢 Forty-five of our teens and staff enjoyed a day of fun, laughter, and community.

Our dedicated counselors contributed over 280 hours of unpaid community service throughout the summer. We are incredibly grateful for their hard work, commitment, and the joy they brought to our campers. What better way to end an amazing summer than by celebrating together! 💙

Youth Ministry Takes Action!

Our Youth Ministry group gathered to reflect on their personal “Gift to Don Bosco,” pray for recent graduates, and plan upcoming activities. From parish fundraising and Friendsgiving to a Tijuana mission trip and December celebrations, our young people are growing as leaders through faith, service, responsibility, and meaningful community involvement.

Opening Doors, Inspiring Leadership✨

Three young women from the Salesian Family Youth Center’s Youth Ministry program attended the 2026 Latina Public Service Academy Summer Reception, connecting with inspiring Latina leaders in public service, advocacy, and business.Opportunities like this encourage our youth to step outside their comfort zones, discover new possibilities, and envision themselves as future leaders and agents of social change. By connecting with Latina role models, they are reminded that they, too, have the power to lead and make a difference.

💧❤️ Faith in Action: Serving Our Neighbors

Youth from the Salesian Family Youth Center’s Youth Ministry Program, guided by the Salesian Missionary Volunteer Program, distributed water to people experiencing homelessness in Skid Row during a morning of intense heat.

Inspired by the Gospel, our youth put their faith into action, answering the question, “Who is Jesus to us?” Through this simple act of service, they practiced compassion, dignity, and social justice while learning how they can help transform their community.

🏀✨ Counselors Cheer on the Sparks!

Thanks to our collaboration with Tickets for Kids, 30 of our counselors had the opportunity to attend a Los Angeles Sparks game against the Indiana Fever! They enjoyed an exciting night of basketball and got to watch WNBA stars like Caitlin Clark in action. We are so grateful for this special opportunity to celebrate and give back to our amazing counselors! 💜🏀

🥞🏛️ Youth Voices at Pancakes & Politics

Members of our Salesian Youth Ministry and SHOUT Program at Bravo High School attended the Pancakes & Politics forum hosted by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. Omar, featured in our upcoming Hearts of Boyle Heights book, and Joshua, a 2026 SYLC participant, joined the event.

Our youth heard from community leaders, including LAUSD Superintendent Andrés E. Chait, and had the opportunity to ask questions and engage with him directly. The experience inspired them to see themselves as future leaders committed to service and the common good.

🎬❤️ Celebrating Our Youth Volunteers

Last month, we celebrated the young people who generously volunteered in our Holy Week Living Stations of the Cross. Their faith, talent, and dedication helped create a meaningful experience for our parish community. As a small thank-you, we treated part of the group to a movie night to see Minions, with the rest of our volunteers joining us soon! 🎬🍿 This celebration was made possible through generous movie ticket donations. We are so grateful for our amazing youth and the spirit of service they bring to our Salesian family!

🎨✨ SHOUT Arts & Crafts Club!

Our SHOUT After-School Program launched a brand-new Arts & Crafts Club! For their first project, students created their own “Snow Globe Cups.” ❄️✨ Students chose their glitter, stickers, and decorations to create cups that reflected their unique styles. More than just a fun activity, the project gave students a chance to relax, connect, and build community with one another. We are so proud of their creativity and hard work—and they were excited to take their one-of-a-kind creations home! 💙

📚✨ Welcome Back to Study Hall!

Welcome back to a new school year! We are excited to welcome our students back and support them in reaching their academic goals. Our Study Hall is open and ready to provide homework help, study resources, and a quiet space to focus and complete assignments. This space was created with our students in mind, and we can’t wait to support them in making this their best school year yet! 📖💙

Thank you for being part of our family!
