We Care

The name of Salesian’s program, “We Care” derives from the Salesian mission of strengthening education and structure for the future of our youth. Every choice, innovation or action the We Care Afterschool Program pursues is to bene t and develop the youth from the surrounding community, so that the community itself can grow as well.

What started off as a mere concern and idea has now developed into a flourishing program that focuses on not only the academic success of the youth, but the complete balance of the child as a whole.

Here at We Care, we offer to pick up students from Breed Elementary and Second Street Elementary from the earliest dismissal to the regular dismissal.

Students from other schools are also welcome!

Only 10 students per instructor

We provide a 10 to 1 ratio, meaning, we only have 10 students per instructor for effective attention!

We are also fortunate enough here at the Salesian club to have nearby High School and College students that periodically volunteer their time to assist for much more individual one on one attention.

What we provide

Here at We Care, we believe that a balance of focusing on the present and the future is essential to developing a student’s success.

With that being said, We Care offers students assistance with homework as well as individual tutoring to get ahead and aid in any academic difficulties.

Teamwork

Here at We Care, we also believe in encouraging a youth’s ability to think dynamically and to value teamwork.

We offer cooperative games and activities that inspire young students to think critically not only for his/her well-being, but the well-being of those around them.

Homework Assistance

Here at We Care, nutritious snacks are also offered daily to begin the program in order to continue motivating the youth to stay healthy and maintain high keep spirits.

Tutoring

Here at We Care, we understand that some children need extra help with some classes.

This is why we do not only do homework with your children. We also offer tutoring that will help them succeed in school.

We Care student teachers are motivated to help your children, we also rely on High School students who help us tutoring.
